Stay at Willington
Hall Country House Hotel near the
village of Tarporley or Manor Farm near Cholmondeley. Beeston Castle,
Delamere Forest and the Peckforton Hills are close by. Tarporley has a
pretty high street with good shops for browsing and a choice of pubs and tea
shops. Chester is only 20 minutes by car with its lovely Roman walls,
good shopping and excellent choice of food.
The surrounding
countryside is great for cycling with quiet lanes and pretty villages.
Cycling rides are a gentle 10 - 15 miles or moderate 20 -250 miles and include
Delamere Forest, to Beeston Castle and the Ice-Cream farm and the Shire
Horse Centre. Can also mix with walking.
Accommodation: Willington Hall
is a small privately owned AA *** Country House Hotel with a good restaurant.
The hotel has 10 bedrooms and stands in 17 acres of formal gardens and
parkland, with views over to the Welsh hills. For breaks based here,
three course dinner is included in the restaurant (except Sunday evenings
when the restaurant is closed and slightly reduced menu served in the bar.)
   
Manor
Farm is in a quiet rural setting and has a lovely garden with views towards
Bickerton Hill. Dinner is not
included here; there are several very good
pubs a short drive away for evening meals.

ITINERARY
First Day - Arrive
at accommodation from lunchtime. We meet you when you arrive to deliver
bikes and adjust them to make sure they are comfortable.
Day
2 and 3 - Circular ride choices
Last Day -
Check out of your room. You can leave your car and then circular ride for
that day. We meet you back at the accommodation at an agreed time to collect
the bikes.

worth a visit, with views across 8 counties on a clear day. Go through
Bunbury village (small detour takes you to working water mill and
staircase locks on the canal). There is also the excellent Dysart Arms
