Tarporley Cycling Break - Willington Hall Hotel or Manor Farm

2 or 3 nights - GENTLE/MODERATE

Malpas ChurchCycling in Delamere

Stay at Willington Hall Country House Hotel near the village of Tarporley or Manor Farm near Cholmondeley. Beeston Castle, Delamere Forest and the Peckforton Hills are close by. Tarporley has a pretty high street with good shops for browsing and a choice of pubs and tea shops. Chester is only 20 minutes by car with its lovely Roman walls, good shopping and excellent choice of food.

The surrounding countryside is great for cycling with quiet lanes and pretty villages. Cycling rides are a gentle 10 - 15 miles or moderate 20 -250 miles and include Delamere Forest, to Beeston Castle and the Ice-Cream farm and the Shire Horse Centre. Can also mix with walking.

Accommodation: Willington Hall is a small privately owned AA *** Country House Hotel with a good restaurant. The hotel has 10 bedrooms and stands in 17 acres of formal gardens and parkland, with views over to the Welsh hills. For breaks based here,  three course dinner is included in the restaurant (except Sunday evenings when the restaurant is closed and slightly reduced menu served in the bar.)

Manor Farm is in a quiet rural setting and has a lovely garden with views towards Bickerton Hill. Dinner is not included here; there are several very good pubs a short drive away for evening meals.
