A self guided cycling
break exploring some of Cheshire's finest gardens. You stay at Manor
Farm B & B in a lovely rural setting in a lovely garden. Explore the surrounding countryside
which
is great for cycling with quiet lanes and pretty villages and numerous
gardens. Cycle
to Cholmondeley
Castle Gardens one of Cheshire Gardens of Distinction and also local
gardens open as part of the National Gardens Scheme, like Well House
Cottage Garden, previously a winner of Cheshire in Bloom, Valve House and
Grafton
Lodge.
 
Cholmondeley Castle Gardens are dominated
by a Gothic Castle (not open). The
gardens and grounds have many beautiful specimen trees, herbaceous
borders, shrubberies, ponds and lakes with the highlight being the
beautiful Temple Garden. The grounds also has a nature reserve and a rare
breeds animal centre with children's corner.
 
On the three night holiday a chance to
leave the bikes behind for a day and visit two gardens a little further
afield. Arley Hall and Gardens is a 45 minute drive from Manor Farm and Mount
Pleasant Gardens is on the way to Arley. Alternatively you can visit 2
well know garden centres, the specialist Stapley Water Gardens and
Bridgemere Garden Centre near the Tudor market town of Nantwich

ITINERARY 3 night break - (We do flexible start days so itinerary
may change to fit open days of garden, or we can switch days to suit you)
First Day - Arrive
at accommodation from lunchtime. We meet you when you arrive to deliver
bikes and adjust them to make sure they are comfortable. Visit to Valve
House cottage garden and then a circular ride to Wrenbury and Marbury
Mere. 15 miles Day
2 - Circular ride to Tattenhall and Farndon. Stop for lunch at a local
pub with good food, or tea shop across the river in Holt. Return visiting
Well House Cottage Garden and Antiques shop. From here cycle past Stretton
Water Mill and through Tilston, past Stretton Water Mill visiting
Grafton Lodge and another small local garden. Day
3 - Leave the bikes for today and tour two of Cheshire's Gardens of
Distinction. Arley Hall and Gardens is
a 45 minute drive away from Manor Farm. On the way, visit Mount Pleasant
Gardens with views over the Cheshire Plain. Alternatively can visit the
specialist Stapley Water Gardens and Bridgemere Garden Centre, coupled
with a visit to the nearby tudor market town of Nantwich Day
4 - Check out of your room. You can leave your car and then circular
ride for that day. We will meet you back at the accommodation at an agreed
time to collect the bikes. Circular ride to Cholmondeley Castle Gardens and
Malpas. Distance 15 miles EXAMPLE
