Ribble
Way - Accommodation booking & luggage
The Ribble Way follows the 70 mile course of
the lovely River Ribble and its valley from the sea near Preston in
Lancashire, through the Forest of Bowland to its source on Cam Fell in North Yorkshire.
The Ribble Way starts at Longton on the salt
marshes of the estuary and passes onto the plains between Preston and
Clitheroe. The Ribble Way then explores higher ground towards the Lancashire
border and up to its source in North Yorkshire.

The Ribble Valley has a fascinating history
with evidence of Roman roads, ancient abbeys, 14th century halls and
numerous landmarks from the industrial revolution many of which have been
incorporated into the route. The route is fully waymarked with the Ribble
way logo making it easy to follow.
Highlights include the Roman remains and
museum at Ribchester, remains of Sawley Abbey founded by the Cistercian
monks in 1147, the market town of Settle and the Ribblehead Viaduct.
Tell us how far you
want to walk, whether you want a rest day and any other particular
requirements. We help you plan the stages, make b & b bookings, pay b
& b's, make arrangements for packed lunches and evening meals (in more
remote areas) and also arrange the transfer
your luggage. We visit all the accommodation and have carefully selected the
farms, guest houses, pubs and hotels we use. They are all comfortable and
welcome walkers. Almost all rooms have en suite or private bathrooms (very
occasionally in more remote areas this isn’t possible).
