Walk
the Llangollen Canal
5,
6
or 8 nights - GENTLE/MODERATE

Walk
the beautiful Llangollen canal from Nantwich through the market towns of
Whitchurch and Ellesmere to Llangollen. The canal is a major feat of
engineering, starting on the rolling Cheshire Plain, crossing the Chirk and Pontcysyllte Aqueducts and as you reach the
welsh hills, following the
Dee valley through Llangollen to its source at the Horseshoe Falls.
Llangollen is a pretty market town, with
a canal wharf, Plas Newydd - the home of the ladies of Llangollen and
plenty of independent shops. There's
plenty of boat traffic to watch along the canal and lots of wildlife.

Accommodation is in quiet B & B’s and
farms close to the canal. We offer 2 moderate options for the walk and also
a more gentle option with distances of less than 10 miles a day - see
itineraries below. Total distance 53 miles
