Offa's Dyke Accommodation booking and Luggage Service

Description

Offas Dyke was built by King Offa in the 8th century to mark the border between Wales and England. Offa's Dyke Path, one of the National Trails, which last year celebrated its 40th anniversary, is 177 miles long. It follows the line of the original Offa's Dyke from Chepstow on the Severn estuary to Prestatyn on the North Wales coast. Offas Dyke Path passes through varied scenery and there are views over some of the most spectacular mountains and valleys in Wales. It also passes through many pleasant towns and villages including Hay on Wye and lots of places of historical interest.

In parts the original Offa's Dyke earthworks can be seen and highlights of the path include the Wye Valley, Tintern Abbey ruins, White Castle, the Black mountains, Hay on Wye, Offa's Dyke Centre at Knighton, the lovely rolling Shropshire Hills, Powis and Chirk Castles, and the Clwydian Hills. There are several lovely places to take a rest day including Hay, famous for its bookshops, Knighton, Welshpool (and visit Powis Castle) or take a short detour to Llangollen.

Many people walk the Offa's Dyke Path from Chepstow to Prestatyn but an increasing number are walking the other way. We can arrange your walk either way or in shorter sections, to suit you.

Accommodation booking and Luggage Service on Offa's Dyke - Tell us how far you want to walk, what distance each day, whether you want a rest day and any other particular requirements. We help you plan the stages, make b & b bookings, pay b & b's, make arrangements for packed lunches and evening meals (in more remote areas) and also arrange the transfer of your luggage. We visit all the accommodation we use and have carefully selected the farms, guest houses, pubs and hotels. They are all comfortable and welcome walkers. Almost all rooms have en suite or private bathrooms (very occasionally in more remote areas this isn’t possible).
