Description

The Shropshire Way has some fantastic views with varied walking through beautiful countryside. The walk includes bracing hill sections in the rugged Shropshire Hills and Long Mynd as well as gentler, pastoral walking in the valleys. The Shropshire Way visits Shrewsbury, Bishop’s Castle, Clun, Craven Arms, Ludlow, the Clee Hills, Wenlock Edge, the World Heritage Site at Ironbridge. The path is waymarked and easy to follow.

Much work has recently been carried out on sections of the Shropshire Way and it is now possible to walk several shorter loops including an 85 mile loop starting in Church Stretton, over the Long Mynd and Stiperstones to Bishops Castle, Clun, Stokesay and Ludlow. From here this loop returns to Church Stretton over Wenlock Edge. Historical highlights of the walk include Stokesay and Ludlow Castles, Ironbridge Gorge Museum, Wenlock Priory and Bury Ditches hill fort.
