Covid-19 has changed the way we have all had to operate in the last year. Byways Breaks have been organising walking and cycling holidays for more than 25 years. We know the areas and walks inside out, the places to stay, and are experienced in putting together flexible itineraries. In the last year this knowledge, experience and flexibility have proved invaluable in us being able to respond quickly and safely to the many changes that have occurred due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are well equipped to organise a safe and quality holiday for you in the current difficult time.

Our providers have worked hard throughout the last year, following the latest guidance for social distancing and cleaning protocols, rearranging rooms and changing practices to ensure they are are covid safe. Many B & Bs and hotels we use have been awarded the Visit Britain ‘Good to Go’ mark. Holidays will be a little different from how they were pre-covid, but we have prepared some information which will give you an idea of what to expect on your holiday at the moment.

A self guided walking or cycling holiday is a great way to get back into the countryside and plan a holiday as you can travel safely in your own bubble, and easily keep your distance from other people.

You can book your walking or cycling holiday through us with confidence, knowing that we will be flexible should there be any changes due to Covid-19. We have extended our terms and conditions as follows

 

Cancellation by Byways Breaks

If we are forced to cancel your holiday due to government restrictions we will offer you

  • A replacement holiday either on a different walk, or the same holiday for different dates
  • A credit voucher valid until September 2022 so you can re-book your holidays for a date in the future when there is more certainty for you.
  • A full refund for your full holiday or any parts that have not been delivered

 

Cancellation by you prior to departure

If you have to cancel your holiday due to Covid reasons you must notify us in writing along with reasons. Acceptable Covid reasons will be at our discretion and in these cases we will offer

  • A replacement holiday either on a different walk, or the same holiday for different dates
  • A credit voucher valid until September 2022 so you can re-book your holidays when at a date in the future when there is more certainty for you.
  • or refund (less any non -refundable charges).

Acceptable types of covid reasons include

  • If you are required to self isolate
  • If you are diagnosed with Covid 19 so unable to travel
  • If the foreign office or government restrictions mean you are unable to travel

 

Free postponement up to 4 weeks before your holiday.

We will allow one free postponement/change to arrangements as long it is made more than 28 days before your holiday start date.

 

Your payments are safe

Deposit payments are only £100 per person and balance payment are not due until 6 weeks before your holiday. All payments made by you are held in a trust account and are fully protected until your holiday is competed. See our full booking terms and conditions.
