Tour de France in Yorkshire

7th July 2014

Has the Tour de France inspired you to take a cycling holiday in the UK?

What an exciting weekend we had watching the Tour de France in Yorkshire, along with thousands of other people. We were near Hawes on the Buttertubs climb. The weather was lovely and atmosphere fantasic. They sped past us around 3pm after a wait of several hours.

If the Tour de France has inspired you to think about taking a cycling holiday in the UK have a look at our latest offers for cycling holidays this summer

Byways Breaks  – Cycling Holidays in the UK

Why not try the Canals, Castle and Chester short cycling break starting in Chester, crossing canals and circling (not climbing!) the Peckforton Hills which are dotted with castles. Chester and Cheshire is renowned for its good food and there are many lovely country pubs and tea shops serving great local produce. The Canals Castles and Chester Holiday is an ideal 2 or 3 night short break.

Or if you are looking for a longer holiday what about the Castles and Meres 5 or 6 night cycling holiday starting in Chester and then heading into Shropshire to explore the lovely Shropshire lakes area or Marches Meander which has a few hill climbs, not quite as tough as the Yorkshire Hills though…
